Default Plastx is the ultimate fix for foggy headlights

I'm telling this stuff is absolutely amazing. My high beams and my right headlight had the typical condensation buildup, after around 20 mins they looked like new. I hand buffed it which took longer, but it was quite the shock when I realized how well it worked. Thanks to the poster who suggested that I use this on my headlights.

a good thing to do is to wetsand em. 2000 grit before buffing. doing so it will smoothen out all the dings.

You probably need to wetsand the nasty stuff off your headlight first.

Plastix is like fine sandpaper. It wont tackle heavy duty cloudiness and such.

Personally, Wetsanding + Novus + rotary does it for me.

3M Plastic Cleaner does it with MF cloth. Otherwise, try using a foam applicator with the PlastX.

It seems to work OK for me. Nothing that will make me jump out of my seat for.

I used it with ok results. I need to do it again and this time I am going to probably wetsand. Those that have wetsanded the headlights, did you wrap the paper around a block or did you just use your fingers?

Use the fingers . Its a headlight and has round corners. A block won't bend to the light fixture, and therefore might sand the surface flat. Just use you're fingers, and since you will be wet sanding, you won't burn your fingers by sanding.

What I do for the older hazed headlights is:

Wetsand -> Rubbing Compound -> Polish -> Protect

Plastx definitely works. I plan to use it on my '99 GS4 which has some slight yellowing, but before I did it on that, I tried it out on a '97 Altima with lenses that that were so yellowed over, you couldn't see through them at all. Within 3 minutes of hand-buffing with the plastix, they were clear as day. I bought some 2000 grit sandpaper to clear up the small dents and what little yellow that is left, but I would say just using the Plastx would be enough. I was honestly shocked that it worked so well and so quick.

For headlights that arent deeply cloudy or blemished, can you skip wetstanding?

I have very very slight hairline scratches in my headlights, besides that they are clear and w/out condensation. I've never wetstanded ever, so am somewhat hesitant to start. For headlights like mine, would rubbing compound+Plastix+plastic polish+wax be sufficient? Anyone try that method with good results w/out wetsanding?
