Swirls Issue
Hi all,
I have just had my car clayed/waxed/detailed at a reputable shop. They were able to restore the shine to my car and reduce the swirls, however the swirls are still very visible so I am planning to do it myself (I have never done anything like this before). Here are my questions:
Any other ideas that would reduce harsh swirls are appreciated.

- Are all swirls removable?
- Which product would you recommend for my condition?
- Is there some sort of preferred timeframe that I should wait for before re-applying these kind of products to my paint?
Any other ideas that would reduce harsh swirls are appreciated.

If your shop 'detailed' your car right...you should have a swirl-free finish.
The minor swirls will buff out easily with an orbital buffer and swirl remover (meguiars #9 i think) Removing all the swirls by hand would take forever though.
If you don't have the time (5 hours) + time to practice then you could get your car actually detailed for somewhere around $200 to remove the swirls/defects.

Hi tuan, that's exactly how much I paid for this job. Here is a link to the detailer's site, they are a reputable international company and the best at where I live at (as far as I know).
I've got all the time it takes on my hand. What sort of specifications should I look for when purchasing an orbital buffer? what type of pads should I use?

Today I let a buddy of mine use my PC on his car and he was able to correct all the swirls on his car (I had to use rotary on the deeper swirls). If a novice like him can use the PC/G100, you can too!
A G100 is a relabeled Porter Cable 7424/7336.
Or you can try the new Ultimate Detailing Machine that goes for $150 USD + shipping. It's based on the PC, but can correct swirls faster.
They should be ready by the end of the month at www.autogeek.net
