I would first try something mild like scratchx. If that doesnt work I would try something like poorboys ssr 2.5 and 1, followed by a good wax. I have used the poorboys products with great success

Thanks for the info. Do you know where can I get those products? Can I find it in any auto parts store?

ScratchX can be found in most auto stores. I'd highly suggest that you keep a Quick Detailer and some microfibers in your vehicle. Removing this stuff ASAP is critical. Etching from bird poo often is so deep that it can't be completely removed.

You may need to use ScratchX several times with passion to see results.

Jim, well said...I had to smile in reading your last sentence.

My wife - and others - think I'm overboard in carrying QD and clean towels in the driver's door pocket. I just like to think I'm well-prepared.

Is the "white mark" an etching in the paint? Or just a mark? If its just a mark, you can use a claybar to clean the paint. Then you need to protect it with a sealant.

If you run your fingernail over it and gets caught, you need to use touchup paint or just leave it alone. I think the best thing might be to post a pic if you're unsure, so we can get a better idea of your "mark".

^ Good points, it's always wise to be safe. However, it's fair to say that bird poop left alone for a week will etch, no matter what.

I carry this in my car for these purposes

Works very well and you can "wash" the whole car with it too. Adds shine and protects

You can also try meguiars DACP. Use it with an orbital buffer and a yellow cutting pad on a speed of about 3.5/4.0. Should do the trick. Check out autopia.org and do a search.

I have had my share of bird poo. I am so paranoid when I see them on my cars. Get rid of it as soon as you see them. Keep a handy QD bottle and a clean towel, as VroomVroom suggests, you will be in good shape. When I see a nice car with bird poo...I cringe. Especially when the bord poo looks like it has been there for ages.....yikes!
