Default First full detail!

Hey guys! A few days ago I fully detailed my black 98 gs300 and the result was absolutely amazing

I washed with meguiars car wash, then followed up with meguiars show car glaze, and then used meguiars nxt wax (paste).

One problem though. It rained a couple of days after and now the car looks so dirty with all the water spots. I thought the wax would make the rain bead off? What went wrong?

Actually, the water will bead up so well on a nicely waxed finish, that it will sit on the paint longer than just a washed car. Especially on the trunk and roof. This will allow the sun to dry out those water beads and leave the minerals to set onto the finish aka water spots.

If you have an air compressor or leaf blower, put it into action next time.

That is why on a sunny day, then showers.....then sun up again, that's the recipe for water spots. The best thing is to dry it up after the rain. Better yet, get covered parking. Some of us are so lucky to have covered parking.

You might also want to try Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer. This stuff has a strong aversion to water and acts like RainX for your paint. It should help avoid some of your water spotting issues.

I always spray QD on my bumpers, front and rear, keeps them from fading (on my older cars). Works great. Keeps the water off, too.
