Lightbulb Gum on carpet! OH NOEZ!!

So this morning I hopped in the back of the GS to grab a plastic bag off the floor and saw a big wad of white gum pressed into my black floormat!

Culprit: drunk chicks over the weekend.

I was thinkin peanut butter might work to get it out but one of the culprits seems to think that only works for hair. She says she can get it all out with cuitcle cutters, but that seems like it'd take up quite a bit of the carpet.

Anyone have any good methods to get gum out of a carpet floor mat?

Thanks in advance for the help!

try "freeze" it with ice or spray with an inverted "canned air".

you can "pull" it out rather easy after you "freeze" the gum.....

my idea doesn't sound all that great after a second of thinking about it but let me throw it out there anyways..

maybe you can try 'goo-gone'

yes, freeze it
when it hardens, you can probably scrape it off
or remove you carpet mats and let the gum dry out naturally (week+ or more)
once it's hard, scrape or brush it off - that's it

An alternative would be to try a citrus based cleaner such as Oomph or Xenit

Default Removing Gum

Place an ice cube on the gum to harden it and then take a nickle or something similar and scrape it off. Keep the gum hard while doing it. It works very well without harming the carpet or seat.

I'd agree with the freezing. Even the ice cube works, but the the inverted can of compressed air will work great. How is the "culprit" going to repay you for the unnecessary stress and for messin' wit yo ride?

Default peanut butter is the trick

definitely use the peanut butter (take it from a Mom). Something in peanut butter totally emulsifies gum...it will "melt" like mush when you rub the peanut butter on it. Then...use a butter knife to scrape it off. Let it dry and use a wire brush to get the rest..then clean up the peanut butter residue.
