Default Detailing the car!!

Guys, for the last month or so, I have been using Mothers Spray on wax with great results. I use it every 2-3 car washes, and I wash the car once a week. I also use Mothers Wet Detail ( I think thats what its called) mostly a day or two after a car wash, just to clean the car up.
Those of you who know what kind of a pain in the *** it is to maintain a balck car in NYC or any other big city know what I am talking about when I say that, you have to wash the car every 2-3 days if you drive your car often.

I am planning to use the clay bar next weekend follwed by a glazer to fix the paint up for the winter.

Any inputs are appreciated.

Dave

Some people will tell you its amazing to see the crud that accumulates in the piece of clay.
My cars have had pretty good paint, so when I claybar, I don't pick up very much dirt in the clay.
One tip ... when you do the side of your car, keep a tupperware container under the piece of clay. The clay becomes very slipper when wet, and it is useless once dropped to the ground.
After claying, I use a swirl/polish, then a final sealer wax for best long term
results.
Have fun, post "after" pics.

Claying the car makes a wonderful difference. I did it on my '96 when I bought it and it made the paint feel smooth as glass. As far as wax goes, I LOVE zymol wax. It comes in a blue bottle and is very easy to apply, and leaves a great shine and is very durable.

I agree with Thermactor. Zymol is one of the best in the market. I use Zymol with all my cars and the results speak from themselves.
