Question I accidentally burned my headlight lens...

...with a heatgun.

So i did 2000 grit wetsand, rubbing compound and then plastix, the mark still won't go away (but it is very smooth by touch). There's also a slight bulging of the area that is burnt.

Am I SOL? or is there a way I can salvage my plastic lens.

Can't really fix that. It's an irreversible chemical reaction for you. Not something you can really buff out. Any picture to show how severe the burn is?

it's on my left highbeam. I was trying to take out condensation but i got a little impatient and left the heatgun on there a bit too long.

also polished my headlights with a rotary. they look amazing.

btw heatguns are on sale for $10 at harbor freight. and a decent rotary polish/sander is only $20

It does not look to bad in the pics
1.wet sand it with 2k grit ( I know you did it, but you need redo this method)
2.apply the nevous #2 and then #1 with the rotary
Hope this help

It looks like you melted the plastic and I think you might be out of luck.

thought about this as well, don't think it's going to make a difference if the surface is smooth as glass already.
