Default Should I wax As soon As She Comes Home?

Should I wax my new lexus as soon as she comes home or is it good for a while. How is the new car paint is it waxed or just new and then washed from the dealer.

you could if you want...most of these cars have been sitting outside in the sun and rain for days so whatever floats your boat

The factory paint is baked, so you can wax it immediately. Even on a new car, be sure to clay first to remove any contaminants your car picked up during shipping.

If your car has been repainted, then the rules are different. It's best to wait 1-3 months after a repaint to ensure that the new paint has totally cured.

yep..clay with plenty of lube. polish, wax then glaze. ur car will look phenomenal afterwards. waxed mine a while ago and still beading.

yes you should, but before that, use dawn and clay bar and what not to remove all the previous stuff

scared? if you don't do anything and after a month you notice all the scratches and swirls due to the fact that the car paint was not sealed and treated properly in the beginning, you will cry

Hmm......guess i can plan to wax mines too. I thought u would want to wait 3 months or so b4 waxing, guess i heard wrong.

You should clay first before anything. Get a good look at the paint if there are any swirls or scratches and remove them first. Then wax away!

I agree that it is good to prep and wax immediately for protection. HOWEVER, please do some research on how to properly wash and wax. Many of you will know how and this is old hat, but there are some who will use poor techniques and can cause more defects. Until a few months ago I was in the "didn't know" category and have learned a lot. There is good advice on this forums and others, so I urge people to do some research.
