I couldnt find any grit higher then 1500 is this too low? will i be doing more harm then otherwise?
Keep in mind if the lettering on the front of the safc is on "top" then it will probably be removed. I would start with 3000 grit and work down. You can use 3000 to wetsand clear coat as a final step before buffing out so it should be pretty safe. If I can use it on cd's then it should be fine for the safc. I have also used the method on a old school "piano black" Cooler Master ATC-201 case with great results. Couldn't see any scratches and with piano black you can usually see the thinnest hairline scratches.
send me your mailing address and I can throw you one of my Meguire's 3000's. you prob only need a small piece.
soak sandpaper for 15min.
sand in circular motion
rewet if needed and sand more if scratch is deep
buff out with plastx
