don't the headlights yellow even faster after you've used PlastX?? I read some where that PastX removes the UV resistant top coat/clear coat of the headlights making it more vulnerable to oxidation??? Can anyone who use PlastX confirm this?

It depends on how much you polish, or wetsand the headlights, what machine you use, etc. On paint clear coat, if you take off more then about .3 mils then you're removing the majority of the UV blockers. I have no idea how thick it is on headlights.

They do. If you put paint protection film on the headlights after cleaning them up then they will stay clear and clean for as long as the film is on.

I cleaned mine with wet 1500 grit sand paper and then followed it with PlastX. I honestly think that it's the best way considering all the scratches and pits were removed. They felt like new when i was done with them!

I honestly think it's the best way to go... I did this around Thanksgiving and they still look new.

depending on how bad the plastic is I would go 2500 grit (wet sand) first then if that didnt do it then bump it up to 2000 then 1500 [remember, the lower the # the rougher the paper]. Even using plastx I don't think this can all be done by hand (not sure though) I have always used a rotary polisher or at the very very least a PC to polish it out.
Try this stuff once you polish them out:
available from most online detail shops. Also great for the nav screens, computer screens, fake wood stuff in the car's interior, tint film (great for tint film), plastic screens on tach, speedo --- anything plastic

I went directly from 1500 to plastx. there are no scratch marks on the lamps, just straight clear. I'm sure that on a microscopic level there might be... but nothing that's visible to the eye. No swirl marks, no scratches... just clear. I'll take a picture this weekend when I wash my car again to show you how they look three months after doing this... still clear!
