Ultima Paint Guard Plus?
Just wondering - has anyone tried Ultima Paint Guard Plus on their car? It sounds good (as most advertisements do) but what are the 'real world' results?
From the Autopia-Carcare website:
4 Ounces for $35.00 .....is it worth it?
From the Autopia-Carcare website:
Ultima Paint Guard Plus, containing Polycharger Wax Booster technology, is the longest lasting, clearest and easiest paint protection you can apply to your car. This product takes about ten minutes to apply to a clean, dry vehicle. Simply wipe on and walk away. No buffing required.
Ordinary waxes and paint sealants easily wash off in a matter of weeks, but Ultima Paint Guard Plus continues protecting, beading water and shining for months. No other car wax product resists detergents, pollution, hard water spotting, road salts, insect remains, bird droppings and acid rain as well as Ultima Paint Guard Plus. The results are guaranteed.
Ultima Paint Guard Plus is a hyper-concentrated formula. When used as directed, a single 4 ounce bottle is enough product to coat a mid-size vehicle up to 20 times. Our super durable formula protects for months, but you may apply it as frequently as you like.

I've used it on a customer's work van and seems to be holding up pretty well after 2 months. WOWA product just like Optimum Opti-Seal and Zaino Z-CS. And yes, its polycharged, so its supposed to last longer. But again, its only been 2 months, so I can't comment on durability beyond that.
I just bought some Trim Guard Plus ($48) and Polycharged some Collinite 845, so we'll see how that goes.

I'm using it and am very happy. You have to apply veryvery thin. 4oz will last a long time - it seems expensive, but is not that bad on a per application basis. Durability seems good, but I tend to add a coat every couple of weeks, so I don't really test it.

Yes, its the same WOWA (wipe on walk away) type of product. But Ultima products contain Polycharger and will probably last alot longer than Opti-Seal. I've just tested the Ultima PGP going on 2 months now and still looks great.

Appyling Opti-seal only takes about 15 minutes. The shine and slickness is amazing.
I also wash with Optimum No Rinse (ONR) which works great with Opti-seal.

What does this actually do? Can someone translate into lame mans terms? From the description, it sounds like it works just like Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer, how does it differ exactly?

Ultima PGP is a clear WOWA spray sealant. It contains Polycharger, which is an additive that boosts gloss and durability. It does not contain waxes and is used to protect your paint. UQD is a quick detailer and does not protect the paint. Hope that helps.

Also, whats "WOWA"? Or is it something I don't necessarily need to know to understand this product?

I see, I thought UQD somewhat protected paint since when it's applied water beads off of it. I guess that doesn't necessarily mean it protect paint but I thought that applied a layer of some sort of protection for the water to bead. It sounds good though, does it also help take out some swirl marks or at least prevent some from developing after it is applied?

Go ahead and wash your car, clay, polish, then "protect" it with UQD. Now THATS a false opinion.
I think you might want to read and comprehend what a Quick Detailer really is. Yes, it
which is what a QD is. Is it a cleaner? NO, if your car is dirty, wash it.
operative words here are "enhances" and "adds ADDITIONAL". rfx45 wanted a "simple" answer. If you want to get technical and test my knowledge, that's fine. You're not discrediting me in any way. I use the stuff I talk about. UQD is designed to molecularly bond to pre-existing protection. It increases the strength of the wax/sealant's molecular structure and "enhances and adds additional protection".
Again, does it protect? NO. It enhances your existing protection and ADDS addtional protection to your already protected paint surface.

I'm not trying to "test your knowledge" nor draw you out on this forum. I, just like you, want facts to be presented in a manner that doesn't cause people draw the wrong conclusion.
This a very friendly forum and please don't feel like I am picking on you. Don't take this personal. I haven't questioned your skills or knowledge as I pointed out in my earlier post. In fact, I'm sure that this would never be an issue in a face-to-face discussion. Just when on the internet, it is sometimes difficult to make a point without having someone feel offended. No offense intended.
