Default Bad Scratch! Help!

I JUST got my new is250 yesterday. And my dad decided to take it out this morning for a drive. As he was backing out of the garage he hit the garage door... and scratched it pretty bad

Any suggestions on what to do? Should I have it fixed by Lexus? body shop? or DIY?

Possible price range on what it might cost me to get it fixed?

If I DIY, any suggestions on touch up paint?

Here are some pics of the scratch, it scratched all the way down to the metal...

i think the best way is to go to lexus and get the touch up paint from them. all you have to do is go there and give them your vin number. they will exactly know what color is your car and give you the right touch up paint. im not sure how well its going to work out. seeing now deep it is. my ls is like that and im just gona leave it until i get it repainted.

I would get the rear quarter panel repainted by a body shop. I think it would be tough to get that fixed with touch up paint without being noticable. If you want a mediocre fix, then the touch up paint would be a lot cheaper.

Also, you seem to have a lot of swirl marks already from the second picture. Since your car is only a day old, maybe you should have your dealer correct those swirls.

I have a similar scratch not due to the same problem but a F'n rusty top to a screw driver punctured my tire and spun like crazy scratching my rear passenger wheel well. Ill see if I got any pics of the touchup paint fix. A lot cheaper and not noticeable unless your on top of the car. then again yours is more serious.

Pic is really old and dirty from last year which is why they are so noticeable. Ill take a pic once I wash the salt off of my car on Tuesday.

On a day old car...I'd definitely get the whole panel repainted....and your dad should happily pay for it.

Being a brand new car, get the entire panel repainted, or replaced from them. As for the pictures, what's up with the SWIRLs??!?!

Try touch up, if the look bothers you, have no choice but to get the quarter painted. Risk of mis-match....think. I would think it would not be as noticeable after you do a good touch up job.
