Default Swirls and RejeX

My plan this Friday is to apply RejeX onto my Black IS 350.

I will

1. Wash my car at a pressure car wash (quick wash).
2. Take it home and hand wash it again.
3. Claybar the car
4. Remove the Swirls????? using a Polisher?
5. Apply RejeX
6. Wait 12 hours and reapply RejeX.

Any know what I should do in number 4 to remove the swirls before I put on RejeX (anything by Meguiar's?). This is my 2nd time ever doing an exterior detailing.

Considering that it's a 2IS, I'm guessing the swirls aren't that bad. Grab a DA like a PC or UDM and use a fine polish on a white LC pad. Maybe some OP, 106ff, or 3M UF. If they're still there, you might want to move up to IP/SIP on orange or even OP. Beauty with OP is that it can work as a more aggressive polish with a more aggressive pad and vice versa. You can check your work with an IPA wipedown. For Meg's maybe some #83, but it's hard to find Meg's better polishes OTC.

I'm not too found of RejeX. It's been said that the look is a bit on the plasticky side, but it seems real popular among the Vette crowd.

Thanks mysteryan.. unfortunately most of the products you mentioned is not easily available in Canada..

There is only Turtle, Nu Finish, Mothers and Meguiar's.

For step 4 which would be the best product to remove swirls before I put on RejeX?

1. Meguiar's® Step 1 Deep Crystal Cleaner
2. Meguiar's® Cleaner Wax
3. Meguiar's® ColourX

Of these three I'd suggest that ColorX is the most aggressive followed by the Cleaner Wax. The Step 1 cleaner is a chemical (as opposed to abrasive) cleaner and will not remove swirls.

You might look for a local body repair shop and ask them where they get their supplies or if they would sell you a polish.
