Default Water spots on windows.

Quick question:

What product do you use to remove water spots that are in your windows/glass?

Say sunroof for example.

I have tried Windex, Rain-x, Scratch-x, Water, and Waxing. Nothing by hand removes them.

These spots are years old, but they are not physical damage - the glass has no scratches or grooves in it.

So what product, and would combining it with my UDM be a more efficient method to remove them?

If so, what pad color type combination and product would be recommended (also what speed) ?

*I posted a similar question on Autopia, but I get very different answers from Lexus owners, and non*

Thanks!

Well i used a Meguiar's Polishing Pad W-8006 with #83 to remove heavy water spots with a DA....and Scratch X also works fine with a DA for minor water spots...

What speed do you run your DA at? Approx?

Also what color is the pad -- No idea what an 8006 is.. is the W , white?

Basically your saying I can use any polish I have for paint and it will work for the windows? IE: My XMT 3, or perhaps use a white pad and my Fine swirl remover, 1?

I've used Hawaiian Island Shine or MX-7 water spot removers with steel wool 0000 pads. Doesn't scratch and removes the water spots very efficiently.

I recently discovered I had heavy water spots too and I used 3M Rubbing Compound. Works like a charm, safe on glass and clear coat too. Use a 100% cotton towel and make sure you clean your windows incase there are any particles prone to scratch your window before buffing it with the rubbing compound.

I've posted a solution for this problem before. The fix costs $3.95:

I do not know about Pinnacle's XMT..but i only tried Meguiar's #83 and Scratch X and it works...havent tried anything else on the windows....i stick to the products that works best for my situation...the 8006 pad is the polishing pad...u should be able to use the LC White Pad..step up to the Orange or Green Pad ONLY if needed.....and becareful...dun put too much pressure that you crack the glass...lol....i used speed 5 on the DA....

I bought CLR and used that and diluted it with water. Worked like a charm.

All good tips. I've ordered some product for this, and will use my DA. Will report the results.

Thanks
