Remember how I melted my backing plate?....

I just did it again! With the UPDATED version from Lake Country ![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)
The o-ring welded to the backing plate and attempted to weld itself to the PC as well. Luckily I managed to rip it off before the hot plastic cooled on the PC bolt.
Story
Polishing my friends BMW e46 and we finish 1/2 his trunk to do some 50/50 shots. We then put it away because I had to go to class and discover that it is very difficult to take the plate off. Twist and turn I couldn't so we both had to do it together! It basically sheered off part of the PC's bolt but its not significant to cause machine failure. I don't know whats going on but it seems that everytime I try to polish my friends BMW the plate fails
. I used this same plate to polish both the ES and RX previous to today. Definitely confused on whats going on...I don't even consider what I did today a heavy polish session either ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I'm starting to consider the EDGE system for polishing now...or Megs backing plate too...
PICS!
These are side by side comparisons to a normal o-ring and the welded one. Hopefully you can see that there is a huge gap in the one that welded itself...
