i cleaned my RMM mufflers..
i used 0000 steelwool and scrubbed it with water to remove watevers on there.. after wards i used Mothers Mag polish.. Ive used the Never dull stuff but i notice the Mothers paste is SUPER good and it doesnt smell and leave your hands dirty like the swab stuff.
ill try to post pictures up.

If it is a polished exhaust, I wouldn't recommend steel wool. Even if you use the extra fine, it is likely to leave some small marks.
The combo that I recommend is the P21s Polishing Soap, followed up with the P21s Finish Restorer.

The Polishing Soap honestly couldn't be easier to use, and that isn't some type of overstatement or sales pitch. You just get the sponge it comes with damp, dab it in the soap, and apply. It will make its own suds which work to break down everything on the metal surface. Tar, oxidation, carbon deposits, just about everything. Work it around for a little bit just like you are washing the dishes. Then wipe down with a MF towel and you are done with step one.
Step two is the Finish Restorer. Simply put a pea sized drop on a MF towel, wipe it on with a little bit of pressure since you are polishing, then after a bit of working it in simply wipe it off and you are done. The best part about it is that the polishing soap does most of the hard work for you, so there isn't any scrubbing type difficulty like you find with other metal polishes, because most of the contaminants which the normal polishes typically have to remove before they can actually POLISH, are already gone because of the Polishing Soap.
Honestly, with this combo, seeing is believing. Actually, using is believing. Try it out, I promise you will be blown away.

Wow, bringing this back from the dead was an understatement !! It's been almost 2 years since the last post lol, but I'd like to update and say that I do have the Eagle One Never Dull now and it is simply amazing. I've used it on the exhaust, but primarily use it on the chrome lips of my rims. I even have the Lexus brand chrome polish and its not as good as the never dull. I realize I never took pics of the exhaust and I'm sorry about that but i'll see if I can remember to take some tomorrow ...

I remember when I first bought Never Dull, I thought I was a victim of a prank or scam when I opened the jar. I was expecting paste inside but saw the cloth material instead. It was shortly after I realized when I read the instructions that the material is the polish. The product turned out to be very good.

I am into supporting our sponsors, however, the never dull can be found also at Walmart...for cheap (less than $5.00).
Smells like kersosene on a cotton substrate...works well.
