Default Probably the worst detailer in the world...

Just read the thread, its...sad...

Theres a fellow Autopian in that thread as well, dishing out the truth, but that guy wants none of it

This is his "Full Detail"
I'll post the pics tonite but here's what I did:

1. Blue Magic clay bar kit
2. California Gold - car wash shampoo
3. Meguiar's Quick Detailer spray.

I quickly learned that in order to make the Cali Gold work it's best, don't add too much water...allow it to suds up real heavy and it works great...but if you follow the instructions it doesn't tell you how much/or less water to make it work the best. I literaly used only 3 big Gulps of water to 3 measured cups of Cali Gold and it works wonders.

the Meguiar's Quick Detailer is what really brought the shine to showroom quality.

added a client who rode by on his bike and saw my car all cleaned up. I'll have to pass along the savings to new clients because the Cali Gold is about $4 more expensive than the $1.89 bottle of Ajax.

More here if you can stomach it...(he also clays before he washes the car)
more 280 pics after a full detail

wow, im a noob when it comes to detailing but at least i can take other's advices and criticisms. I wouldnt even imagine charging people for that kind of detailing or even doing that stuff to my own personal cars.

He just believes he's right, there's nothing anyone will be able to tell him to change that.

It's a matter of being open or closed minded, and learning from others, something most of us are accepting of here. I learn things every week here, and I've been detailing over 35 years.

Kind of a lesson in life, and how we make our way through it.

The trick, again, for him, for all of us, is to disagree without being disagreeable in the process. That's probably the REALLY hard part!

Let's keep this civil folks, no matter what your opinion of him and what he does.

Thanks,

The convo that took place was definitely crazy....the other detailers simply shared their opinion and corrected his wording and he blew up....very unprofessional and immature.

My favorite Quote:
I used to be a detailer for car lots like Lexus, Cadillac, etc..I'm a self taught detailer so I know what I'm doing. I just haven't made the jump to full time detailer yet... by choice. I have a name for it though.

what's worse than inadequacy is stubbornness...I will admit that I did a few of those things years ago...terrible results...read up on it and listened to others, now I consider myself better because of it

WOW! After reading the whole thread I bet FMINUS could learn a few detailing tricks from this guy! Like using Ajax to wash a car. I bet FMINUS never even considered using that! And claying a car first before washing it....these are tips I bet FMINUS could really appreciate!

To be honest, I've been suspecting that FMINUS's work is all smoke and mirrors too. What I DON'T understand, however, is how he managed to find a mirror the exact same size and shape as a BMW E46 M3 hood!

But in all seriousness, the gulf in knowledge between an immensely talented detailer like FMINUS and the boob at BenzWorld.org is staggering!

Haha, he doesn't even seem to be playing the forum either because he seems to get mad everytime someone tries to correct him

Remember people, don't be closed-minded when people give you tips
