Don't worry, the smell will dissipate in time. I still have fond memory a few years ago when I ran over a skunk on the road. Could not avoid it and the smell stuck for about a week and a half, maybe less. What I did was use a lot of Febreeze, air freshners, wash the outside really good including the fender wells, and leave the windows down all day and night. Let the smell out. For the most part, the air freshners masked the smell pretty good. People couldn't tell I ran over a skunk. Eventually, the smell will die out. That's the good news.

They tested it on Mythbusters, here are there results:
Removing skunk odor with...:
* Tomato juice: plausible
* Beer (MGD): busted
* Douche: busted
* Hydrogen peroxide + baking soda + liquid dish soap: confirmed
* Commercial skunk remover: confirmed (not as good as custom mix above)

Tomato juice doesn't work, trust me. Our dog got sprayed by a skunk a few years ago, and we called our Vet. He had a prescription strength shampoo that was made to neutralize the smell of skunk juice. One shampoo/bath and the smell was essentially gone. Two shampoo/baths and our dog smelled like a clean dog! I don't remember the name of the solution, but if you call your friendly local Vet, they should be able to sell you some. Then just shampoo your carpets with it, and see if that does the trick. I'm not sure if it safe for leather, perhaps the Vet would know the answer to that.

I would recommend few things:
1. Shampoo your carpet and leave it out to dry for few days. Let any possible smell air out.
2. Air out your car. It's possible that the smell has been circulated inside your cabin.
a. take out your cabin filter and see if you can smell any skunk odor, if so, replace.
b. air out your car. With window down, high heat, use outside air to try and burn off any smell that may be left behind from skunk smell
c. use odor eliminator such as car febreez or ozium from the outside car vent to clean out the smell if the high heat was unable to.
3. Leave baking soda or even just simple lime/lemon/orange peels in the car. This method has been used to eliminate odor.
Hopefully this will help.

Skunks are stinky! When I was younger, my brother's truck got sprayed by one at school...he drove home, and it stunk up the whole block. The smell eventually went away after a few washes. Sorry to hear it got inside of your car.

All you people buying a Lexus and only trying home remedies? Take it to a detailer. If that doesn't work, replace the carpet, driver's seat cover and/or foot pedal. I liked the vet and the mix suggestions, though. Good ideas.
