Default preparations for the return of my baby?

my GS is coming back home from a complete color change in about 2 weeks. i went from silver to black... and i just have a few questions.

How long do i wait before i can wax her? ive been told to wait a week to really let the paint dry and seal. is that true?

I am also considering a clear bra. Do i get it waxed before the clear bra or the other way around?

Is there any special ways to wax a car with fresh paint? Or any special types of wax to use?

thanks in advance guys,
ayr

I've read in other car care forums that you should wait at least 30 days (preferably 90 days) before applying wax or sealant on a new re-paint. You want to make sure the paint is fully cured.

Regarding the clear bra, all wax must be revoved before installation. If you are having a professional do the work, they will use some type of alcohol prep (prepsol, etc) to remove the wax before installing. The clear bra adheres best to perfectly clean paint.

Paint can be dry to the touch in a matter of minutes to a few hours. Sandable and buffable in under and hour. in reality though the paint of a brand new car may take a year or more to cure properly. Thats why your NOT supposed to wax a brand new car or freshly painted. Your owners manual for most cars will say that.
