How long does it take to wax your car??
Today I bought some wax for my car and it was the first time for me waxing my car and it took forever. I got lazy and only did half but yah just wondering how long it it suppose to take you. Sorry if this is a dumb question but my previous car was a 01 civic lx so i didn't bother taking that good care of it.

Bro, it's not a civic, if your gonna do it, than do it right.
I clay barred by car this weekend for the first time, than hit it up with a coat of wax. It took me about 45mins to an hour to clay the car than another hour to wax it. In all it took about 5 hours.

That's a loaded question... It depends. If your talking about using a paste wax, by hand, then your looking at a couple hours. Quick detailing spray wax should take a couple of minutes. Zaino products with multiple coats could take a whole weekend. Think of it as therapy!!!

Just did my daughter's in about an hr with both of us waxing. Did wheels as well . Used Liquid Glass which is an amazing prouct. Easy to put on, very easy to wipe off. Long lasting and very protective. I put it on the windows as well.

ROFL... ok i have a 'show' comming up on sat, today i did only the body of the car...
0830 wash (start) clayed the rear bumper got lazy and stopped claying (BIG MISTAKE)... masked lights/grill/window trim with blue tape (this took 1hr), polished with Autoglym resin thingy, removed polish and waxed with Swissvax Samurai/2 coats, 1630(4:30pm) finish. All by hand and only a total 1hr break...
tomorrow, lift car pull rims and detail w/Zaino tire thingy, clean brakes/suspension, interior Swissvax leather cleaner and milk, windows RainX... this should take about 1/2 day easy (gotta pick mangos in the morning )
can you say 'pre show prep'

I do mine in about 3 hours. You go a little faster the more you do it over the years. I am on my 18th year of car detailing and I've got it down to a science. hehe

Wash and dry the car using Optimum No Rinse takes about 20-30 minutes depending on how big of a hurry....this includes wheels.
Once a year I follow up by claying the GS (using Optimum No Rinse diluted for clay lube) and this takes about 45 minutes. When I clay I usually polish the car as well using Optimum polishes and my Porter Cable which takes around an hour since I don't hurry this process.
I have been using Optimum Opti Seal lately and it only takes about 5-10 minutes to do the whole car. It is a wipe on (one ounce will do the car at least 3 or 4 times) and walk away product. I also use the Ultimate product which is the same process.
The answer to your question in my case is 5-10 minutes.

The most time consuming part is prepping the car. Washing, claying, and polishing. Glazes and wax or sealant only take about an hour. Prep takes a lot longer. You can speed up the prep by a factor of 10 by using a PC.

Waxing takes the least amount of time in my routine. If you don't take into account the time you're goofing off waiting for the wax to bond (assuming you aren't using the higher end stuff), then its roughly 10 min. When I use Zymol the time is extended to at least 30 min of applying and buffing since its not supposed to dry into a haze
