Default First time waxing

Hello everyone

so i cleaned and conditioned the leather today and I'm going to wax the car tomorrow, it's the first time i ever wax a car so here is what I'm going to do and tell me if i am doing something wrong:

1-wash the car
2-dry it
3-start waxing by hand, by applying the wax on the car then making circles until the "whiteness" of the wax disappears.

am i doing anything wrong?

and what's better the "solid" wax that comes in small bottles or the liquid ?(both cases i'm using meguair's)
and should i wax it under the sun or in the shade?
and the last thing, what should i use? the pad that comes with the wax?

sorry for the too many questions

thanks

looks good! just overlap em by about 50%. the idea is to spread it evenly, so you should be fine. waxing is easy man! Do not wax under the sun though. Paint gets super toasty and wax dries too fast before it can haze and bond to your paint. Your applicator will also get all crusty and it'll become a dusty job.

I'd highly recommend you also clay the paint before waxing it.

Always wash, clay polish or wax in the shade on cool paint.

I agree with both recommendations. They're all spot on

For the liquid vs solid wax debate. In my experience, I find that the liquid version was easier to apply a thin coat. That is, unless you are applying the solid by hand of course

Sorry a bit off topic but I need help that similar...

After I wash my car (using turtle wax ice car wash), I dry the car with microfiber towels but there are so many hard water stains. How do people dry the car after they initially wash it (BTW I do it after sunset when it's nice and cool so the water does not dry fast)

And second, when I finally do dry the car, when I put on wax (meguigars gold class wax), it leaves white marks everywhere as the OP mentioned. I do not use a lot per section. Any suggestions? Thanks guys

Microfiber Waffle Weave Drying Towels! Sometimes an electric leaf blower or compressed air if the trim is holding tons of water.
