Detailing Question
Hey for all you guys out there living in HOT a$$ states like me (FL, CA, AZ, etc.) what do you use to keep the car cool while washing/waxing ... Do you all use your garage, a tent, or something else to keep it in the shade? Over here in Miami it gets up to like 94 degrees + humidity during the day so when I spray water on the car or put soap on it it dries up real fast leaving marks and spots ... Any suggestions?

So what's best if I decide to do a full wash & wax? I've heard this could take 6 - 8 hours? It wouldn't be too easy to do it at night lol
I wonder if there's some kind of tent or portable carport I could use to keep the car in the shade while washing ...

For something like that find a empty garage (I use my grandmother in-laws) or use a pop up canopy like you see vendors at car shows using. They are pretty cheap and easy to find nowadays. Just be sure to weight down or anchor the legs so the wind does not pick it up and slam the legs into your car.

I'm thinking home depot or wal-mart should carry these right?

Yeah i would look at those places. Also look at discount stores like Big Lots if you have anything like that around you. Every now and then I see ads for them from those stores.

If you are washing your car, just spray it down with water very often and work very fast.
When you are waxing your car in the sun, it is nearly impossible to keep it cool. Here's what I do. I grab one of my used buffing MF towels (buffed polish or sealant), dunk it into water, wring out as much as I can, then I lay it over the spots I want to wax next. So, when I do wax, the surface is cold and a bit streaky with water so I will have one towel for drying the little bits of water and another towel for buffing when I need it. I hope this helps!
