Honey I messed up the leather.

Honey I messed up the leather.
I read a thread which showed you a way to clean leather. It involved using a bar of soap. So I went to the store and got a bar of lever 2000. My seat was very dirty and dark(must be the dye in my jeans? So i get the bar wet and rub it against the leather and get a damp cloth to wipe it with. I was amazed at how clean my seat was, but I then notice that my leather has a pinkish hue to it. I get another rag and wipe it again and I notice tha rag turns a tan color.(not dirty though). I guess I wiped the dye of my leather? I wonder if there is a product to restore the color. Please help guys. I had tried every leather cleaner @ autozone but none ever cleaned, thats why I attempted this. Thanks in advance.

Anytime you can't accomplish a task using the dedicated products made for that task should tell you that you need to seek professional assistance.
Now if what you were seeing was dye transfer from blue jeans or belts to the leather, there are very limited products that can be used and the results are usually not perfect. Maxi Cleaner is one that seems to work better than others.
You can do a couple things to avoid this in the future. You can start wearing khakies, Dockers, etc. or try washing your jeans in a heavy saltwater and vinegar solution to set the color. The success of this washing process is sometimes not 100%.

The hazards of taking advice from some faceless "expert" on the internet... You need to see a leather care specialist. Trying further web home remedies will just make things worse.

Maybe one of us could send you a small bottle of each one of the links I listed. That way you would know for sure if it can fix it before shelling out so much for the stuff
