Default Do you hand wash your car ?

I have not washed the car since I bought it lol. I am afraid to take it to a car wash, because I don't want to get swirls all over the paint. And I can't hand wash the car either , I live in a building on 22nd floor lol.

What are my options ?

Can you use a bucket where you park your car?

And periodically (for heavier dirt) use a brushless car wash or one of those self-serve spray-nozzle bay outfits.

Agree on the ONR , I use it in the winter when it's too cold to break out the hose, it works very well.

BTW - If you search "ONR" on youtube, you'll find several videos of it in use.

I live in an apartment, so no garage. I do have the option of pulling a hose near my parking area, but it's very inconvenient. I use ONR, and it's great! I wash my car at least once a week, so it's usually not too dirty (just dust), and ONR can handle it just fine.

if anyone or anything else washed it besides a trusted detailer, heads will roll and be polished to the bone!

Agreed. ONR is awesome. Just dont let the car get totally loaded down w/ dirt and you'll be fine

One option you might consider... You could seek out a Laser Touchless Wash. These are safe for the paint as nothing but water and air touch the paint but they don't clean as well as a hand wash. After the Laser Touchless wash you should use a quick detailer with gloss enhancers and polymer protection to keep up the shine and slickness since the detergents used in the touchless wash are rather harsh. I would suggest either Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer or Zaino's Z8. Also, be sure to apply a wax or sealant regularly.

Chris, (I know you'd like to sell both, but) do you think there is a distinct place for both ONR and ONE Waterless (http://www.glimmerglassdetailing.com/onewawawaxse.html) in caring for the same car?

Maybe

Dirty with residual dirt, mud splashes, etc. = Full Wash

Dirty but no grime dirt build-up/some bird crap = ONR

Rain spots/a haze of road dirt/dust = ONE

I know ONR can handle anything below a certain threshold, but I like the idea of the wax aspect of ONE - keeping up beading?, higher gloss?, etc.

I definitely plan to try ONE out.

I dunno... I dont think theres really a need for both honestly. If you're looking for some protection, I think you're better off doing something like Optimum Car Wax or Optiseal after ONR (or spray n wipe for that matter), which you can probably do the whole car in about 10 minutes with and you'll get better durability out of it. If you wanted to grab ONE, this can be a good pre-show/meet, etc, product where it can handle some slight debris and give a great look after one quick step.

^^^^ I agree. I use ONR for all my washing and I use Optimum Car Wax and Opti-Seal for protection every few months. Appying Optimum Car Wax or Opti-Seal only takes about 15 minutes. Sealing or waxing your car will also make washing dirt/bird crap/sap off your car with ONR really fast and easy.
