Cleaning the interior of '99 ES300...
What is the best way to clean crumbs/gook/ashes out of the insides of your Lexus (under the gear shifter/center console, behind the stereo, sides of seats, etc)?
I first noticed ashes/pebbles/dirt on the sides of the seats since they are visible without taking anything apart, but then I took off the armrest and there are tons of crumbs and cigarette ashes in there. Problem is, it's all mixed into the wiring that runs from the front to the rear of the car under the gear shifter/armrest. I want to clean (perhaps vacuum?) out the dirt and apply some sort of cleanser so that the smell will go away, but I also don't want to fry all the wiring that runs under the gear shifter/center console.
Any ideas on how to clean up the crap in there (is vacuuming or using a damp cloth acceptable)? HALP! Thanks.

I second the canned air to blow out the debris in the tight areas. Canned air can be purchased at Office Depot, Office Max or Staples. Then take a lightly damp paper towel and wipe down that area. Hope that helps and let us know how it goes. Nice ES 300 you got there by the way...

Be careful not to invert the can, or the liquid will come out and freeze something. If you have a friend who has an air compressor, use a blow-out tool with the compressor. You will be able to have more pressure. I keep the vacumm handy to clean up as I go, so the dust doesn't resettle in other areas of the car.
