Default Strange & unlucky day in detailing land...

Took my car to my friend to get it detailed yesterday
hes good with rotary polisher as he works at a body shop and does wet sanding and stuff

anyways everything is normal and im happy with the end result

looks nice and everything

but it started to rain when we finished waxing the car so i had to drive in the rain on the way home
so that was a bit unfortunate but it still has nothing compared to what was about to happen later that night

evening comes
i got into a little bumper scrape with a post

detailed story and pic of the accident will follow up in pt. 2

heres part 2 of the story where the horrible thing happened

so same night
8:30PM, mom asks me to buy rice and eggs as we are out of it

i drove quickly to rush to the mall (metrotown) where theres a chinese supermarket (T&T) where they sell the wild rice that my mom asked me to buy

normally its a 25 min drive

i got there in ~17mins and i was trying to find a parking space
found one and tried to park in a hurry
when i was turning in, i turned my head to look at how much space i have left btwn my front bumper and the concrete post

then i realized that i didnt have enuf space and i was going too quick
tried to stop but was out of time

scraped the bumper

all happened within 0.2 of a second

this is the aftermath

so i was royally pissed off at myself
did this to myself after detailing

then i realized its mostly just paint from the painted concrete post rubbed onto my bumper

so this morning, i went to work on it

products used

my tools

during claybaring

after claybaring

claybar did most of the work in removing the paint on there
there were a few little scratches and a few deeper ones
so i went on to polishing instead with my crappy random orbiter

heres from a bit of distance
hard to tell but can still see a few light scratches when inspecting close up

btw these outdoor shots were taken after car drove in the rain and dried naturally (no toweling)

i guess im lucky for not having the bumper getting really scrapped

Glad you're happy with his results, so how much did he charged you?

I just go to him and use his stuff to detail my car, still ain't finished, but the results are ok, nothing close to yours as my paint's much worse. lol

But I hate that he broke the phone I lend to him and he didn't bother to get another. lol

haha well my car was already in pretty good condition
its only got 32k miles on it and its always been garaged
i always have wax on it too

when he first saw my car, he was worried that he wouldnt be able to make as much of a difference visually because my paint condition was already in top notch shape
but end of the day, i still saw some difference and
now the surface is smoother with the claybaring and polishing so the shine is a bit better

and the glaze then wax made the surface extra glossy and wet looking

but yeah even if my car was in worse shape, he wouldve been able to make it look just as good
hes got good rotary skills with his makita

he didnt charge me much because i drove to his house and helped out too

highly recommended, pm me if u want more info

Nice job on cleaning up the area though, turned out great

Car looked awesome after the detail too!
