Default taking off this sticker/paint

I have this grey stripe thats painted/stickered to the side of my car and want to take it off. I think its painted on, i can scratch it off but it would take a while. Any ideas how to take it off easier?

Are you positive it's painted on? It may just be vinyl. If that's the case, just peel it off.

i did this to my civic about 10 years ago and it worked perfectly, just be prepared for hours and hours of minute millimeter by millimeter work, oh and some blisterson you thumb too. don't use to muck goo off though and clean it well right after. But if its painted DON'T DO IT. Find out if it is a factory option or take it to bto a body shop to find out first. DON'T start schraching it off before you know. PS good luck it is a pain in the kester(or at least mine was because it was a new car and the adhesive was brand new)

It might leave a white mark where the pin stripe is, if it's been on the car for like 8-10 yrs you know.

Body shop is your best bet. Coming from someone who used to work at one. If its just the sticker pin stripe you can peel it off yourself, but if it is painted on then they have to wet sand and buff it out.

3M has a wheel you can use that'll rip it right off; then claybar it.

go to lowes and get some MEK(methylethelkeytone) this will help loosen the adhesive and you should be able to peel the remainder off.

^ he said it was painted on,not sticker,

usually lacquer thinner or acetone will remove it,some of the airbrush guys mix in some hardener ,then it's a PITA,I'd try lacquer thinner on soft towel first,if not, wrap some 1200 grit sandpaper on mmixing stick and wetsand that junk off, then buff ,wax

no, he said he could scratch it off, which means its probably a thermostatic decal. The 3M wheel mentioned above just attaches to a regular power drill, and removes thermostatic pinstripes really easily.

Rightlook.com has it for about $25.

you know that some painted on pinstripes can be scratched off with a tip of fingernail ? I have been in body/paint industry for nearly 20 years,18 of which I have owned my own custom shop,I think I know what 3M wheel does, what tools it attaches to and what it does
