Hello all. After washing my car, I noticed a small scratch on my hood. Its not deep and it looks like only the clear coat is scratched. I tried using Meguires Scratch X and it went away a little bit but its still here. (Yes I'm **** bc thats how much I love my car.) Applied like 6 times and left very small spider webs.=( Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? Thanks!

No. Dual Action machines is pretty hard to mess up your car. Rotary on the other hand if left in the same spot for too long will burn the paint, especially around the edges. Rotaries also can cause buffer trails if polishing on too high of a speed and not using the proper techniques.

If you can catch your fingernail in the scratch it is likely too deep to remove safely. If you hit it with ScrathX, I'd suggest the initial application with a clean terrycloth as it will give you more bite. Use short vigorous strokes with even pressure and continue rubbing until the polish clears. ScratchX uses diminishing abrasives. It requires that it be worked until is is fully broken down and then wiped off. It should not be worked until dry however. After the first one or two shots change to a foam pad and ease off on the pressure for the final finish.
