wood dash removal

what is the best way to remove wood grain dash pieces. just installed a kenwood dnx 7120 h/u and was thinking of removing the wood pieces in the center console as it really doesnt match. any suggestions? that 3m tape can be a b..ch to get up. worried bout what it will look like underneath if i do...thanks.

I thought you'd get a few responses on this, saying what I'm about to, but I'm surprised you didn't...
A heat gun, or at the very least, a hair dryer set on high. Move it slowly along small sections of the wood to soften the adhesive backing, and lightly pry up with a flathead screwdriver that has tape over its metal tip (to protect the dash under the wood).
Take your time, it'll work if you're patient and you get it heated up well enough to soften the glue.
