Car Clayed : 2001 ES300 Pics
Finally getting some time to catch up yet again on some posting. Not even quite sure when I did clay my car over, but here are the pics of the final product. I have a new respect for anybody that clays their vehicle. I thought I knew of car detailing and time spent doing it until I did this for the first time.
The hard thing is doing it thoroughly, and making sure that the first couple areas are done as good as the last sections of the car. It's easy to just rush it along, but so much better if you do it smartly. Dedication and detailing. On this job I used the Meguiars clay and detailing spray kit, followed with Klasse AIO and Klasse SG then topped with S100. Hope you like the finish, tell me what you think.
Cheers
P.S. just too bad winter is coming...

...nice pick up, and yes. I always keep the inside of my wheels and my calipers and rotor hats as clean as I can. They're obviously painted. I cannot stand for extremely clean wheels, especially chrome, with dirty, rusty calipers or anything visibly dirty in behind. Definitely a big NO NO in my books.

Heres what you'd want to do. Grab a clay bar, such as this one, http://www.glimmerglassdetailing.com...-clay-bar.html Using a clay lube, such as this: http://www.glimmerglassdetailing.com/lusysucllu.html
Now, after you wash your vehicle, start with the clay lube and hit a small (1x1' or 2x2') area w/ the lube. Then, with the clay, run the bar in back/forth, side/side motions over the paint using light>moderate pressure. You will hear and feel the bar picking up the surface contaminents. You will also see the contamination on the underside of the clay. Continually kneed the clay to keep a relatively clean side down and just move across the whole vehicle this way.
After you're done, you can rewash the car or use a quick detailer to remove any residue left behind. Then go ahead and either polish or wax
You'll notice that the hood, roof and truck attract a lot of stuff like tree sap, rail dust, etc while areas like behind the wheel wells attract tar and general grime while the rear bumper also takes a beating from exhaust fumes and debris.
This makes a huge difference!

Car looks good bro. I gotta ask tho...How are you liking those Goodyear Assurance TripleTreads? I got the comfortread model on my 2006 Honda Civic EX. I like them alot, tho i wish they were a bit better in heavy snow. But they are decent in snow up to 1ft...what more could you ask for in an A/S tire?
