Default Cleaning chrome wheels and can't get everything off

I have Chromed is350 wheels and I have not really washed the car too frequently in the last few months. There is dust and dirt on the wheel and with soap and water and rubbing with a cloth, I can manage to get alot of it off but there is some that just seems to stay and I would spend days rubbing it off. Is there any kind of polish or other product I could use after I got a majority of it off to get the rest out? I just dont want to use something too abrasive and damage the finish. Thanks!

I keep all my old contaminated clay bars for doing my wheels and exhaust that should shift most things. If its tar then a tar remover like tardis.

Clay, APC (all purpose cleaner), Bug/Tar remover. I'd give those a shot and see what they get you before moving to a chrome polish.

Thanks for the responses. I tried the bug tar remover and it worked a little better. I am going to try a clay bar tomorrow and I will let you know what happens. Thanks.

Try Meguiar's Chrome wheel cleaner, in the red bottle.
just be careful, I stopped using it because my brake calipers started to show rust. It must have done some damage.

Time to paint calipers.

I've tried a few products but have settled with Meguiar's Chrome cleaner too. It may have contributed to my brake calipers becoming rusty & dusty looking. I've since painted the calipers though.

To the OP, I would also suggest using Meguiar's Chrome Polish after you've cleaned the wheels.
