But that was ages and ages ago haha

You seemed pretty determined when I bought that stuff off of you that time too. Guess everything went downhill sometime around that meeting huh?

Aww, I can understand that. The only time I can do a real detail is during breaks. Sucks mucho

Got the Makita in today. I'll prolly make another thread when I take pics/play with it. Apparently the BP that it came with is exactly 6.5 inches so I can practice (I guess lol). Anything I should watch out for Henry?

I tend to go overboard when I like something so much. But I guess this is abnormal wear and tear. Porter Cable has not responded to my email either. So I guess they don't know what to say or how to react

I think I'll make a banner in my garage of this. "Destroyer of PC's!" with a PC in the background

Works great when drying pads

Slightly noisy though at high RPMs. I think I'll buy some ear plugs now. Overall its a solid machine that I am loving already

They're awesome to dry pads with..much better than the PC.

Things you should watch out for: working on side panels. It's harder to get the pad flat on the paint while applying light pressure. You'll fine yourself struggling a bit unless you're a natural. you may experience pad skipping the first time. If you're a right hander, use your left hand to hold the head of the rotary and use your right hand to hold the handle. Your left hand will be stabilizing the machine, while your right hand will be moving it. I find that the handles are harder to use, but who knows...you may like it.

What kind of pads are you using?

Hmm, that is good to know. Its definitely got some heft to it thats for sure. That tip with the holding position is also a good one. I was using the complete opposite to spur pads and stuff

I'm going to be using my LC pads. 4 and 6.5 inch. Since the BP is currently 6.5, I'll be practicing with the 6.5 until I place an order in the future for BPs

Lol, I think my UK order will be even worse. PB has not sent it yet but I can definitely see it as a pretty big box

You might as well make friends with your UPS delivery guy. Get hookups and all

Small update. The PC Repair Center I went to is currently custom-making a shaft for me so it doesn't happen again

That means more weeks in the sick bay though
