Default How to Clean Inside Door Material...Below Handle-See Pic

First off I do not eat in my car or ever allow anyone to eat in my car. I guess I have oily palms cause there is a mark just below the inside door handle (the mark is positioned exactly that hit your inside palm when you go to open the door).

So this material is not leather and it's techured. How do I get rid of the shiny spot that it has left WITHOUT making it look like I have scrubed that certain area? I have no idea what to use. I tried a clean cotton rag with a little water but that did not break it up or go away.

Here is a pic circled in red is the small area I'm concerned with.

It's likely not oil - as you said it's exactly where you hit your hand to open the door. It's wear on that piece of textured material. Even though it's not leather, a light leather/vinyl cleaner would help if it were oil. If there is no result, I'm sticking with it being wear on the area.

Thanks for the replies, it doesn't really feel or look like it's worn at all, my car is only 1.5 yrs old, it looks more shiny that is why I mentioned it could be natural oil from hand?

Could you tell me or link to me what APC is?

shiny spot? I had great luck with with 50/50 water and alcohol on my light leather interior. Maybe that would work? I would definitely treat with Aerospace 303 protectant after though

My first reaction would be to grab my Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer. This is a product that is made for cleaning dust and fingerprints from the interior vinyl. It leaves no shine and does have UVA/UVB protection. This usually cleans up that type of contamination very quickly.

If that didn't work I'd grab my Meguiar's #40 or #39, Vinyl Cleaner & Conditioner or Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner respectively.

This is just a guess based on the pic, but...an experienced guess in that I've seen things like this on newer cars quite often;

The car had some damage there and it was sprayed ( and a poor color match) at the dealership lot.

There's often either transit damage or dealer prep damage on vehicles and they all have guys that fix leather, plastic, paint etc. on call.

If I'm wrong, the above suggestions should work. If I'm right, nothing the others mentioned will likely work on it.
It looks to me as if it's been sprayed. The other possibility is ...it has been damaged and the color has been abraded/ removed in that spot. In that case as well, no cleaner nor conditioner will fix it, and it will have to be resprayed.

Good luck
