Dr. Colorchip DIY/Review (PICS)

I have a kit from mothers that is supposed to work on smoothing out the "blob" when you use touch up paint, but havent used it yet. Tried the Lanka touchup pen I had laying around and it worked ok on a chip that was near the keyhole on the drivers side door but also did a chip that was on the hood and it didnt match too well, but I didnt end up with a blob, the Lanka filled the chips in very smooth and evenly, just wish it could have been blended in better.

not sure if its a buffer tool so much as it is a hard plastic piece. The package is quite old so Im not sure how long I have had it in my detailing closet

i think the pictures look better the actual result... I used it on my black benz, looks pretty good, but still noticeable. I can't seem to get the thickness right, maybe i need to re-apply to get same OEM thickness. overall i think it's the best product out there.

For those that have tried this what kit would you recommend, there are 3. I have some pretty bad road rash in the front and a couple larger chips. Did you have a nice amount of product left over after you did your chips to where the larger more expensive kit may not be needed or would you recommend getting the kit with the more paint/chemical because you started getting low? Is there any detailing site that sells Dr. Colorchip besides the Dr. Colorchip site?

I ordered mine, should be here any day and I will attempt to apply on my BLACK LS430 with two "bird dropping" damage and mini-galaxy of paint chips on the hood. I've already taken super-macro shots of the areas, so I'll definitely post back here my results for all to view. I must say, from pictures by SupraMan, the "far" results do look acceptable and much better than gobby-gooey OEM touch up paint. All I'm looking to achieve is "far away" good look also, not perfect under close look.
Anyway, we will see... we will see...
