Last night, it was a balmy 45 degrees. The Civic had not had a good stern detailing all winter long.

I couldnt sleep, after trying for a few hours, at about 1130pm I went out, backed the car out of the garage, turned the hose on and washed it.

then it was over, I couldnt stop.

I dried it...

Then I clayed it...

Then I washed again...

then I looked at my watch, and it was 130am.

*Thinks to self* Man I should take an ambien (prescribed for insomnia due to PTS-D)...Aww screw it.

I break out the Scratch out and go to town with my Orbital.

Its now 2am. The wife heard me bangin around in the garage and came to investigate.

"What the hell are you doing? Its freezing in here (still 50-ish). Are you nuts?"

"No...well...maybe" *continues buffing, wife rolls her eyes and goes back to sleep*

After that, looked good, but wasnt enough. Time for glaze.

Megs #7 and me with a microfiber. By the time i Finished, I was about 330am.

Now of course I had to seal it. Finished it off with A coat of meguiars NXT 2.0 and then...

I started the inside at 4am. This is gettin retarded-ed-ed

Shampooed the carpets, Megs Dash and Trim foam conditioner on dash and panels. Shampooed upholstery, vacuumed dry with genie wet/dry vacuum. But oh, we arent done yet. Its 530am. Eh, screw it, I dont have to work tomorrow...well...today.

Vaccumed the trunk.

Hmm...theres something Im forgetting. OH YES!

I put the car on jackstands, and took the wheels off. I hosed them down, washed them good, clayed them, and sealed them up, washed my painted brake calipers (GROSSSSSS), and put it back together, threw on some tire shine. I went in at 8am and my wife was eating breakfast.

"How did it go?"

"I dont remember...but the cars clean."






Woke up at noon...

"****...I forgot to do the engine..."

LOL...Great story...Im sensing a wee bit of OCD? Nahh..just a car nut like all of us! If I had an attached garage Id be doing the same..so NO, ur not weird. Glad ur neighbors didnt call the police for noise LOLOL
