My method of washing and waxing the car is:
- Go wash the car at an open bay pressure washing gun.
-Dry with absorber
-Go home park in garage
-Rest for a while
-Apply The Ultimate Detailer from Meguiars
-Use MF pads from Walmart (cheap to buy)
-Apply Meguiars NXT Tech 2.0 wax to the whole car
-Wait one hour later then clean it off.
-Process takes about 3 hours

What you guys think?

I would suggest the 2 bucket method or if not possible in your situation then ONR.

I suggest you replace the absorber with a good drying towel.

Use a good applicator and that wax is not bad for OTC, if its easier and cheaper for you. I do not think that wax has to cure. We do not use that but read the back of it and check if it does. Highly doubt it though. Use a good micro to take off the wax, if it giving you problem coming off use some QD and your good to go.

Yea, if you're paying one of those coin op machines each time to wash, you could probably save yourself a few dollars (not to mention gas $ going back/forth), and time by just using Optimum No Rinse. You could do this in your garage and not make a mess which is perfect. ONR doesnt require any rinsing w/ a hose, simply wash a section/panel at a time and dry Just dont use ONR on an vehicle overloaded w/ mud and you'll be good to go!

I'd suggest doing a clay occasionally, maybe once or twice a year depending on your environment. Before you wax, try gently drawing your fingertips over the paint on your hood and if it doesn't feel as smooth as glass you need to clay.

NXT 2.0 is a sealant and does need to set-up before removal. Typically 20-30 minutes will do but your hour wait is just fine.

If you have a dark colored car you might need to pay special attention to the washing and drying materials used. Test your microfiber towels by rubbing them dry across an old CD and see if they leave any marring. If they do, they will likely cause swirls on your paint and you should replace them with higher quality.

I use the ABSORBER to dry after washing. As for MF, that's only for polishing and removing wax.

The absorber works "meh-ishly" a waffle weave towel works much better

The absorber doesn't scratch the car.
Last long time!

It'll slightly marr its just the basic design of it..
To help minimize that: dab or slap it on the car then lift up. Do not drag it, as it catches.. Use a Waffle weave..You'll never come back to the Absorber. or you might just use the Absorber for convertible tops (which it works decent)

Heh-heh, I understand, the Army has me on more painkillers than you can imagine (Vicodin, Percoset and Tramadol to name three). So I can sympathize.

Yep, you can apply it as often as you'd like really, but one of the nice benefits to a sealant is that they typically last longer so there isnt a need to reapply as often as some carnauba waxes.
