Default What would you recommend for starter PC 7424 kit?

Hi, planning to get a new PC 7424 since I want to fix my scratches and swirls.

What would you guys recommend? The starting pads? Solutions?

Is this good?

or this?

I also need clay bar kit.

Smokyis350, I don't want to sound harsh, but I would recommend you take your car to a professional detailer, and get your scratches fixed. From watching your posts, I think you are in a panic mode, and willing to try anything to get rid of these new scratches, and you are not taking the time to understand and make a sound decision. Using a PC, or other machine is necesary to remove these scratches, but in the hands of a novice, you could do more damage than you have already.

I commend you for wanting to get into the detailing world, and keep your car looking great, and we have all been at the same level of knowledge as you before. Just take it slow, read about the different buffing machines available, read about pad sizes, colors, brands, read about the difference between compounds, glaze, sealant and waxes, and then make an informed decision. You can't learn enough in one or two threads in a week to do what you want to to correct your car.

Take a look at our Porter Cable 7424 Starter Kit or our PC 7424 Advanced Kit. These kits give you all the pads and accessories you need. You can also adjust the pads to select which ones you would like.

I would then get the Menzerna Intensive Polish (applied with orange pad) and the Menzerna Final Polish II (applied with white pad). This will help remove the majority of the fine swirls and oxidation in the clear coat. After polishing I would recommend protecting the paint with a sealant. The Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 is my favorite sealant while the Chemical Guys M-Seal is an outstanding value (apply with blue fine finishing pad).

If you have any questions about these products or anything related to detailing please let me know.

I bought the PC Starter kit from Greg last year along with IP and FPII. Worked excellently against my ES and RX clears. Greg is a great customer service person too. If anything goes wrong with any of the parts, he will take care of you for sure

If youre interested in the optimum package, I offer a very similar one to what you linked to. The major differences would include; Free Shipping from us, OptiSeal is included from us (a last step sealant) but no PoliSeal, and we also include Optimum Car Wash.

go through a vendor!!!! if there are specific products that you want..you can try to work with the vendors and make a package that will satisfy you. also IF anything should happen it would be a lot easier to receive help through one of our vendors than going back to ebay. even if you have any questions about anything, i know phil, greg, or chris wont hesitate to help you answer your questions.
