Default Collinite 845 as a wheel protect?

Hey I have 845 and wheel wax, but was wondering if I could use 845 as a sealant since it has long lasting attributes. If not I'll just stick to wheel wax.

Can't wait to read the responses on this. I love Collinite, and was wondering the same thing.

I do not think its situated for high heat..If anything use the 885; That's situated for temperature extremes, but may haze, as it does mute metallic finishes.

I guess I'll just stick to my wheel wax then.

sure you can. I've seen plenty of people use 845 on their wheels.

I have used Colli 845 on my wheels, however I would recommend Colli's 476 instead. From my experience, it is definitely more durable, and I believe that it can be more effectively be layered.

476 and the 885 are the same. Just the other one gives you more for the buck. (the 885)...

because 476 is a paste, it tends to be slightly more durable but is harder to apply/remove

but it is still a carnauba wax so i would not recommend on using it on the wheels even though collinite tends to take on a moderate amount of heat alright

I don't think the point is that it would be unsafe.

Rather, the question is whether it may evaporate or wear away so fast that it's not worth the elbow grease.

I would argue though, the hood/top of a black car on a hot sunny day will get as hot if not hotter then the wax layer on your rims.

Give it a try. Do one side with one product, other side with the other, let us know of any differences.

nothing scientific, but I've been using Collinite 885 paste on the OEM wheels of my cars (Lexus and Audi) for about 8 years now and its pretty durable and have not had any issues.
