I have an 08 GS350. I select the undercarriage wash often (but not every time) as I live in Minnesota.
I inspected my undercarriage today and noticed rust along the catalytic converter/exhaust pipes.
My question is how quickly should we expect this to happen as my car is only one year old.
Also, how much time do you all place in keeping the bottom as rust free as possible? How do you do this?

I have virtually no rust on my 04RX. The only place where there is any slight rusting is on the exhaust pipe from the headers to the muffler, and what is there is minimal. This is on a WI car. Almost everything under the car is painted or coated with what looks like a powder coating. What does your dealer say about this rust?
I run my RX through a Touchless Laser Wash and get the underbody flush about every week or two during the winter.

Yes we get a lot of snow up here...and therefore salt.
I have not asked the dealer about this. I assume that this is not covered by warranty and is considered normal wear and tear?
