IME it has interfered with my polishing, meaning the pad just glides on the surface while making 0 correction. To make sure that nothing gets in the way of a good polishing job, I strip off all the protection. Most feel it is necessary but it doesn't exactly add an extra step right? Afterall, most of the stuff used to strip waxes are used during the wash process (Dawn, P21S Total Autowash, Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Clear, etc). Also, I believe it helps with the bonding of the LSP you are planning to apply
There should be no harm if you are doing it right.

Isaac had some good information for you. There should be no harm in removing the old wax or sealant if done properly. It is not always necessary to strip the protection, in fact I like to layer coats of sealant or wax over time. However every 6 months or less I think you should strip it all off and start fresh again. The most effective method is to remove it during the washing process. I really like to use the Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss or the Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Clear for this job. It safely removes the wax or sealant so you can start with a bare surface. You can polish the paint to help remove the old product as well. Let us know more about your goals and we can help provide an effective solution.

You have no reason to strip it unless you are planning on doing polishing. It will wear off on its own over time with regular washing and exposure to the elements anyway unless you keep applying on a regular basis.

stripping wax also helps to ensure you have a "clean" surface to work with. even if you do layer wax for example lets say every 2 washes, you'll wax on top of contaminants that may be stuck on the paint. this will then "lock" those contaminants in. however if you clay, you then also remove some of the wax thats already on there. so it would be a good idea like chris said to start fresh every few months. a good process would be to strip the wax off, clay, use some a cleaner wax if necessary to make sure the next step would properly bond, decide if you wanna use sealant, wax, or both.

You should be perfectly fine applying more NXT each month. Its just some people are weird and tend to restart protection every month (me
) to keep the wax "fresh" so to speak. I find in my case its for the better as I have enough waxes in my collection to last me the next 50+ years of my life!
