Default How to get rid of scratches on wood trim?

Hey guys I have a good amount of scratches on the interior wood trim of my LS460. I really want to get rid of these scratches as they are really spoiling the look on the amazing trim. Does anyone know some good way?
i tried the scratchX but it did not do any help.

I used some 2500 grit 3M wet sanding paper and then buffed with the Scratch-x...was able to get some out....just be careful as test as you go.

For coated wood I would use a polish before sanding. I would recommend using a very light polish like the Menzerna PO85RD or Menzerna PO106FA. These polishes use extremely light and smooth cutting particles to only remove the lightest surface imperfections. They are also some of the best polishes to use on your paint to remove swirls, oxidation, etc. and restore a deep shine. I would use some blue painters tape on the surrounding area/trim to reduce your clean up time. Then simply apply a couple of drops on an applicator and buff it on with medium pressure. Right after you can wipe away the residue and you are all done.

You can do a second pass with more pressure if you want to try and remove more imperfections. If you want to protect the surface you can apply a little bit of your favorite sealant or use a protectant like the 303 Aerospace Protectant.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh snap, DO NOT WETSAND your trim...

Just get a bottle of Meguiars ScratchX 2.0 and an Applicator Pad.
This will remove the majority of your scratches and swirls from you wood trim's Clear coat!

Meguiars is the best when it comes to do detailing.

Scratch X is pretty light so a more aggressive polish may be needed. Make sure you use at least medium pressure for best results.

Before polishing, make sure to clean the wood surface of any dust/dirt. The last thing you want to do is add more scratches by dragging around the dirt when you polish.

I've had excellent luck with SCRATCH-OUT in a number of different surfaces, but I don't know if it will work on your wood trim or not.

ScatchX Will work...

It is proper application methods that make the product work. If you just simply apply it like you would a wax, it will get nothing done. You have to use some elbow grease and put some pressure behind the pad!!!

Go to Meguiars Online for further instruction!
