I would recommend allowing the freshly painted areas at least a 30 day cure period before applying the clear bra film. Paint needs to breathe and cure, by wrapping too soon you could create problems. If the body shop guarantee's that the paint will not fail by wrapping it immediately, get it in writing and decide yourself.

You will need 30 days for the paint to cure. If not, there is a greater chance that the film would pull up the paint even during installation.

Thanks for this info^ What about applying touch up paint? Should I wait for a number of days to put on a clear bra? I want to touch up some rock chips first then apply clear bra.

What if the paint is baked in a paint oven?

can anybody post any pics of clear bra on a white hood?
i've seen it on black(very noticeable obviously), but i heard/read it doesn't look good on white either. I'm still debating this... getting my front bumper/hood re-painted next spring(can't stand the chips/touch up paint). Giving this clear bra thing a consideration.

sorry for the thread jack...but just wondering....if i do have something freshly painted, yet i dont want it to chip, can i still put the blue tape over it to protect it without damaging the paint job or stripping away the layers? this is during the the 30 day wait period before i get a clearbra...

We do not recommend putting painters tape, wax, sealant, or anything on the surface of the paint that would prevent the paint from outgassing. To minimize chipping, just avoid driving the vehicle for 30 days or maintain a good distance from cars ahead on the freeway.

If you have a car detailed, polished, sealed, waxed, can you put on a clear bra right away?
