Default i need a clear coat to paint over my headlights

i have an old lexus with clear transparent headlamp covers.

I've scrubbed it down with polish, and it looks 100% better.

I just need a clear coat paint to seal it so it won't yellow again.

anyone have any success with any brand?

I tested Krylon clear spray paint, and it's pure crap. the glossy clear comes out hazy no matter how thin or thick you lay it on. it makes clear plastic opaque, which defeats the purpose.

I had the same problem with my SC. I bought some Xpel headlight covers and put them on. They have built in UV protection. They are pretty thick and also give you some protection from rock chips. I've had them on for over a year and so far no further yellowing of the headlights. The kit comes with covers for the high beams and fogs. I also installed a set on my wife's RX300 with the same results. I think I ordered them directly from the manufacturer on their website. They are installed like window tint, using a soapy water solution, a squeegee, and a hair dryer. I think they have a video on their website. They are totally clear and you cannot see any evidence of them on the headlights. There are other companies that make similar products, but I have no experience with any other than Xpel.
