Default Clear coat rescue advice

I've been meaning to make this thread. I am currently working on some custom rear flares for my UCF10. I kind of had to because my friend botched my rear fender pulls. As we were down to wetsanding the white primer on the near perfectly made bodywork, my friend decided to test out a 1000 grit wet sand on my passenger side rear quarter panel. Now it looks like someone ran a gigantic eraser on my white paintjob. Can I still fix this?

not really he most likely cut through the clear into the paint. the only way to see if it really is messed up is to get a heavy duty buffer and get some rubbing compound and buff till the compound is gone then put some more compound and do it again. if it looks normal again u r in luck and u can just buff it one more time with some glaze or swirl remover. if it didnt look normal and shiny again then u have to get it repainted.

Depending on how far down he went, you may be able to polish it. Can you post a picture. If the clear coat is scuffed, then you may have a chance. But if it's below the clear, down to basecoat or primer, you're looking at a repaint.
