Default How to remove clearcoat overspray from glass and trim

1992 sc400 garnet red repainted a few weeks ago and noticed clearcoat overspray on the windows(not severe, couple of places) and black door trim.

What is the best method to remedy this? I want to be careful and not do or use anything to possibly damage the new paint. I do not wish to take back to the shop.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

Clay bar or acetone. I would personally do acetone since it's the windows

Try either......

GLASS & TRIM
*Clay Magic - Blue(Fine) Red(Medium)
GLASS
*4 'OOOO" Extra fine steel wool - Glass only
TRIM ONLY(rubberized)
*Meguiar's #39 - Trim cleaner and prep then apply Meguiar's #G10810 Gold Class Trim Detailer

Claying will do the trick and it's safe around new paint.

A note of caution about using #0000 Steel wool on Lexus glass. On newer Lexus vehicles, both the driver side and passenger glass are treated with a permanent water repelling coating from the glass manufacturer. Using an abrasive like steel wool will remove this coating. Not sure of the 1992 glass but clay is the safer choice and it works as well on glass as it does on painted surfaces.

Thanks everyone for the quick and informative responses.

I bought this car new in 1991 and it is like an old friend.

New paint, suspension, lights, antenna, interior completed.

Should last another 265,000 miles(probably longer than me).

I know that feeling. I bought this 1991 MR2 new in October of 1990 and just couldn't part with it over all these years. New paint (super red), tail-lights, 128,000 miles, etc. It's is also an old friend.

Default mr2

That car is drop dead gorgeous!

And timeless(still looks new)!

You will never regret keeping it, I bet.

With the exception of the special treated glass, which I never knew of, it's ok to use a disposable straight razor blade to scrape anything off of the windows. They won't scratch unless you try to drag the edge across the glass.
