Back when I was working on a BMW showcar, I had to be very careful around these areas because if I lifted it, game over. The method I used was an APC, I used Optimum Power Clean, and a microfiber towel. I'd first spray some on, then spray some on the towel and using light pressure, remove it by rubbing it. It didn't do any damage at all

Take a wooden toothpick and gently run it along the edge of the film. You want to pull the toothpick towards you. The rest you can use a thin waffle weave microfiber and some spray wax or detail spray and gently run along the seams. You can avoid this by taping the edges of the film next time or using a wax that doesn't leave any residue behind.

Would using a claybar to remove excess wax ruin the film? Then just reapply the wax after either taping off the clear bra or easing it up against the edge carefully?

Clay is an abrasive and that could sheer the edges of the film. You may also get small pieces of clay stuck on the edge and that's a whole nother issue

Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice. I have recently started taping it off, but the old stuff is still there.

Even though it isn't specifically mentioned as something it is good at, the Einszett Plastic Cleaner is absolutely fantastic at removing dried on wax. I remember Moe actually being blown away at wax he was struggling to remove with Tooth Pics and brushes and other methods literally wiping right off just from using the Plastic Cleaner and a MF towel.

Simply spray a little on a MF towel, and run it along the edge of your clear bra and it should remove the wax along the edge.

The area we were using it on was compound around some screws....not sure if I'd do this on the edge of clear film. It may have an adverse reaction with the exposed edge of the film and the glue under the film.
