Default My IS got a long scratch...

My IS got a long scratch now...

My daughter and her friends were riding their bicycles. They were racing around my cars (used it as obstacle course) and as I predicted, one of them lost control. According to the girls, the handlebar hit my door and left a long scratch. I didn't bother asking who did it - the damaged was done, moreover, I don't want 7 year old girls to start crying.

What is good scratch remover to buy?

Thanks Steve!

The scratch is not deep. It's like someone used a blade and left a very thin/fine scratch. I tried to rub off with refinishing (oxidation) wax, didn't do a thing.

Thanks bro.

I'll try to take pics later so you can see what I'm talking about. Lexus has strangest paint. My BMW got scratched - same way. I just had to rub the refinishing wax and it went away. With Lexus, no matter how hard you rub on the paint, the dirt/scratch are still there.

If it's just the clear a good cut and polish will do the job.

LOL

Actually my first thought was...hmmmm, time to get a new paint job - always like Alpine White.

I don't think my daughter did it, because she has no shame to use her drum sticks on the hood, which she did the other day - again. I said, "what are you doing?" She said, "playing the drums". I said, not on the hood of the car. She said, "it's only a Lexus, its not a Ferrari - jeez".

Thanks for some of the suggestions guys!

+1...Pictures please. The lexus paint, as with most japanese paint, is very soft. Don't sneeze...you may scratch the paint Chances are, the scratch might be able to be polished, it all depends on if you can catch it with your finger nail if you rub it.
