Windshield repair kits
Not sure where to put this thread, but I recently replaced my windshield as it had a stress crack and this morning on the freeway, a rock flew at me from opposing traffic and caused a chip!
I don't want the chip to get bigger (thus dishing out another $200+ on it) so does anyone have any experience with these and are pleased with the results? I am looking at this one

At first I thought it was bird poo, but I was trying to claw it out and it was a chip

I've used a similar kit, with so-so results.
My advice is to do what I did the next time I got a rock chip -- go to the nearest dealership, and find the "lot guy" that does their touch-up work on their used car inventory. Most of those guys can actually fix those kind of chips themselves, or can point you to someone who can for a really good price.
I paid $16 for my kit.......but only paid $25 for a pro to fix the next chip. He did it so well that nobody could tell me where it was.
