Mv350's Wheel Project (suggestions needed)
hello detailing world. today i started my wheel project. i sanded and prepped faces for paint, and they are actually in the paint booth right now. I want to create a high polich look on the lips. I know this is not going to be an easy task. But i am ready to take on the challenge. What products should i get and tools to get. I plan on starting this weekend so any help wil be at a great appreciation.
heres how they looked when they were dropped off to me. and already they look way different. the faces are being painted a lexus oem paint code which i will reveal with pix when they are done. should be tomorrow.

I polished the lips on some motorcycle wheels a few years back. I used Aircraft paint stripper to get down to the metal and then sanded them smooth from 200 grit all the way up to 2000 grit. Then I took some Mothers polish with a buffing wheel on a little angry tool and after 2-3 passes with the wheel it shinned like a mirror. 100x easier than I thought it was going to be. Basically spend a good amount of time on the prep work (Sanding) and the polishing part will be a breeze.

Just be careful with the paint stripper, brush it on but don't get it on any surface you don't want to strip. Since I just did the lips, I taped off the rest of the wheel with painters tape. Also make sure you do it in a well ventilated area, the fumes will get to you and wear rubber gloves unless you don't like your finger prints.
