Default what wax to use on starfire pearl

I just got my starfire pearl 07 gs350 last week, what wax should I use for that silky smooth feel and a great shine.

Also, it is a very clean car but I hand washed it last night for the first time. I can see lots of little scratches in the paint, only if you a very very close. How can I take those out

If you're **** about a clean exterior, for personal satisfaction/gratification you'll want to hand wax the car and then apply your favorite polish. I use Zaino on most of my cars and couldn't be happier. The initial prep may be more time consuming then its' competitors, but upkeep is a breeze.

If you have small scratches in the paint you need to take them out before waxing. The best way is to use a compound like Meguiars ultimate compound, or swirlx if it is less deep.

Read this thread for everything you need to know about maintaining paint.

It will explain what those little scratches are - so you know how to handle it.

Also I personally recommend meguiar's products - they've been great for me and they are good value. Zaino and others are excellent too, but you can get Meguiars for less, on Amazon, with free shipping.

If your scratching isnt bad at all, id go ahead and use Optimum Poli-Seal since it has paint correcting abilities and also offers protection.

If your scratches are worse (pictures would help) then i would suggest Meguiars M105 followed up by Meguiars M205. This combination will get rid of virtually all but the worst paint marring/imperfections.

Follow either of these compounds up with your favorite wax and enjoy. Personally id recommend Poorboys Nattys Red Paste Wax but any wax will work. The best wax being swissvax (very expensive).

chauss, great advice to use a clay bar, but unfortunately scratches in the surface of the paint/clearcoat will not be removed with clay. On the bright side, clay will remove particles stuck in the paint that will lead to future scratches.

As the OP has a 3 year old car (still pretty new) id suggest a fine grade clay such as Clay Magic Fine Grade Clay along with Dodo Juice Born Slippy Clay Lube.

Check out the Guide to Claying on Detailed Image for more tips.
